Experience Is the Mother

The Mother of all inventions are brought forth from experience.  God gives us the experiences that we need in order to live our lives for the greater good and to allow us to progress in our spiritual lives.  As we become more educated in life, so does our comprehension of what is needed and what is possible.  As we get older, so the spotlight of what is needed becomes more focused.  The increase in scientific discovery to reach ever forward is increasing at a tremendous rate.  An example of this was the speed at which vaccines were created to reduce the spread of Coronavirus.  The need now is to use these very effective vaccines to protect the whole world and not just the wealthy countries, which are looking after their own people first.  This is understandable, but poorer countries need to vaccinate to stop the spread to their population. This is where politics can get in the way of the right things to do, so that all people are safe and protected.

With the mass travel around the world, even though it has to be halted during the pandemic, people are moving again.  The virus is easily spread.  It only takes a few to arrive in their designated country and carelessly spread it, even though they show no symptoms.   Variants are still appearing and will continue to do so as the virus reproduces.  These variants have different attributes.  Some are more infectious than others.  We must still be vigilant, continue safe practices at home and abroad.    As a nation we must travel to the poorer nations with medical teams to teach the simplest methods of mask wearing, hand washing and social distancing to work together with vaccinations to eradicate the Coronavirus from areas that are at this time largely unprotected.  This job belongs to all of us.  We must see that the whole globe is kept safe from this virus and like other diseases in the past, removed altogether.  God shows us the way when there is no way, but we must do our bit to make it happen.

Another example of scientific advancement in recent times is the arrival of working machines on the planet of Mars.  It takes 150 to 300 days to travel the minimum 33.9 million miles (54.6 million km) depending on the speed of the launch, the alignment of Earth and Mars, and the length of the journey the spacecraft takes to reach its target.  Whatever the logistics are, it is a technical marvel and two separate teams managed to arrive within three months of each other.  The America rover called Perseverance arrived in February and the Chinese rover is called Zhurong, named after a mythical Chinese god of fire.  Both countries landed and remotely drove their successful rovers across the red planet. Only time will tell us if both countries will work together in the future.  Do they both have peaceful intentions by spending huge amounts of money in conquering space?  There needs to be some way to regulate the peaceful future of outer space and the place of man, as he sets out to conquer the Universe in which he lives.  Mankind is not doing a very good job of looking after the future of Planet Earth.

Global warming is affecting the future of man’s ability to live on this planet in the future, as the polar ice disappears through rising temperatures causing the sea levels to rise.  The weather patterns across the world are changing and, as far apart as California and Australia, there are huge destructive fires and increases in droughts and heavy rains.  In between these two areas, the changes are less dramatic but still significant.  Corals are fast disappearing taking away the species of life that it shelters and sustains.  The glaciers and snow-covered mountain tops are too disappearing, which is worrying for the people who live further down the slopes, as there is now no protection from the rain and the frequency of flooding and the mudslides that increase.  Here all countries need to pool their resources to at least slowing the carbon footprint that is changing the face of the earth.  If there are spare resources to send rovers to the planet Mars, there is room for investing in the futures of our native planet.  Again, it is the poorer nations who need greater help as they suffer from Global Warming.  It is not surprising that the two biggest polluters on earth are China and the United States, so what are the chance for the rest of us. We must hope that God shows the way where there is no way.
