Loneliness

It is usually when you grow older that you lose your partner and become lonely.  It is not easy to find another to fill the loss.  Once the compatibility has been lost by the death of one’s partner or they went off with another and leave you as a single person again.  Love may be stronger on one side of the relationship and it is not easily filled by another.  Whatever the reason, Mankind is gregarious and was designed to lie with another, like the animals in Noah’s Ark, they would be together in pairs.  Then they can have fulfillment and bring up a family, which is a full time occupation.

When the children grow up and move away, they often leave a lonely couple, who may not stay together or do not choose another to find comfort with.  Old age causes illness to come calling and one or another passes leaving a hole that isn’t filled.  Whatever the cause there can be a lot of single people, who have to become self-reliant when there is more to fulfill in their lives.  They often are found with a pet.  A cat or dog to fill the void and love is kindled.  It is a very lonely place to come home to without the presence and the welcome of another.

At the time of writing, many are caught up in the pandemic and can’t go out, and friends can’t call.  Then people are often alone and reliant on the telephone or the computer to make contact.  Some try online dating and become at risk of the swindlers, who fill the eager persons yen for loving company and find themselves falling for a sob story and give away their money in a scam.  Then, when they have lost their savings, they also lose the company of the wicked deceiver and become lonely again feeling foolish and lost.

Society needs to be aware of those living on their own and get them involved in local social gatherings.  Many souls have attributes that they can share and for a few hours a week they can share some friendliness.  There are church functions that often are run by those who know the price of being alone and even those who have faith may find comfort in attending a service.  However, nobody is totally alone, as we all have our Spirit Guides, who love us and guide us, if we are able to be sensitive enough to allow them to communicate.  We will find it such a comfort and work to become useful to do God’s will and work for the greater good, which is why, of course, we are here in the first place.
