Displeasure

It is brought on by learning of behavior that causes displeasure. To behave in such a way as to cause this to be felt is to behave badly enough that others are feeling displeasure.   It cannot be seen or heard in any other way.  It is clearly displeasure that is recorded and cannot be seen or heard otherwise.  There is no happiness or pleasure brought into the lives of others and clearly it is unacceptable.  It is already disapproving of this state of being such as it is.  It is a mild form of learning about unhappiness by giving the state of misery that can’t be explained otherwise.

It is brought about by not allowing oneself to be at ease with the behavior of those who should know better and yet it becomes a measure of unhappiness.  It cannot be allowed to be anything other, but like Queen Victoria, who was not amused.  To be displeased is bad enough, but it is felt throughout ones being of disbelief that leaves one with a cold feeling bringing displeasure to be openly seen or heard causing unpleasantness to exist.  It is like a slightly nasty taste in the mouth that one has overstepped the bounds of civilized behavior causing ones higher standing to be disciplined in such a way as to leave an unpleasant state of being in their delicate nature.

They may well simply turn away to show their displeasure by turning their back to the nasty emotion that was metered out so thoughtlessly.  It is not worth any further acknowledgement and is so dismissed by almost ignoring its presence and, by showing ones disdain, it is swiftly expunged from the minds of those who have experienced it.  It is simply a question of noting the abuse and then leaving it where it has occurred to simply hope that it will not happen again.

God must look down on our feeble attempts of doing the right thing with displeasure at our failure to make a better job of it.   It implies failure coupled with forgiveness.  If that is the best we can do, it is hardly worth the attempt and yet we must try again and do it better.  Even so He will be displeased if we break His commandments with a deliberate act instead of holding fast and doing the right thing.  It is as though we should have known better than we did and instead of acting for the greater good, we have failed to bring any positive result that can be seen as writing off our efforts. God will see a lot that displeases Him.  We must try and make amends for our failures and hope that we can be forgiven.
