Humble

To be known as humble is to have the least possible amount of ego.  To sit at the table, one is found at the bottom end of the order and, more than likely, will be asked by the host to come and sit higher up.  It is a matter of choice to sit where one chooses to sit with intent and doubt by the humble who would feel uncomfortable in the higher seats.  To be seen anywhere else would be to make that person feel very uncomfortable and out of place.  The humble, together with the meek, are said to inherit the earth and much good it may do them!

We are brought up to fight for the best position.  It is the American way.  All things are possible there providing we fight for what we need and choose to up stand for.  It is for the best upbringing that that we look for and to gather the very best and in the eyes of the Republican Party through ambition and hard work we are expected to make the grade and become rich and powerful.  They would look down on any other attitude and expectation to be Democrats, where in their opinion they expect to be given everything on a plate.  Here one would find the division that might bring down the entire American politics.  It is a land of opportunity, but the humble need not apply.

Many people would regard this state of being to be a meritorious one.  It is a more human state of being and in the present state of the world there are so many who need help, as survivors of wars and the actions of dictators who have left so many souls in a desperate state of needing help to survive the pitiful conditions that they find themselves in.  There are millions of people who have fled their homes and countries with nothing other than what they stand up in.  When they come to one of the camps for refuges, they are not too proud to beg for a tent and the basic food rations that are available through the charities that run the camps.

It is here that one finds the most desperate state of people, who have been humbled by the actions of others that have left so many people, often without hope and acutely humbled.  God recognizes all souls across this world and gives opportunities for us to help our poor brethren.   Their needs are always there.  They are hopelessly trapped, including the women and children.  As Jesus famously said to his disciples after criticism of his anointing, “The poor you will always have but you won’t always have me.”  The disciples needed to recognize the Master who they walked with and who wanted nothing for himself, but he preached a way of life that is often lost on the people of today.
